The 3 v 3 House league program is structured into 2 divisions based on skill and age level, with equal time devoted to skill development and 3 on 3 games. 

Ages 6 to 9

Programming will feature basketball drills and modified games on a lowered rim that are age-appropriate, simple and fun. Each session runs for 45 minutes one day per week. 

FUN, BASKETBALL AUTHENTIC, MAXIMUM BASKETBALL TOUCHES

 The Jr. NBA curriculum takes children through a series of drills and activities that address basketball fundamentals. This curriculum has been developed by NBA Basketball Operations and a team of experts in child development, physical literacy, and basketball fundamentals.


The program will include games that are modified to be age-appropriate and use age-appropriate equipment such as smaller basketballs and lowered hoops.   

 

Objectives

  • Provide an entry-level basketball program for young children 5 to 9 years old
  • Provide an intermediate level basketball program for youth 10-12 years old
  • Build a community of league organizers, parents and coaches committed to minor basketball
  • Provide a fun, active and healthy learning environment 


Curriculum

  • The Jr. NBA program is a 10 to 12-week program that’s between 45 to 60 minutes in length
  • Created in alliance with Canadian Sport 4 Life/Long Term Athlete Development initiatives. 
  • Aligned with Canada’s Basketball Developmental Pathway
  • Games will be modified to be age-appropriate, simple and fun


Our Equipment & Uniform

  • The Jr. NBA program includes age-appropriate equipment such as smaller basketballs and lowered adjustable hoops
  • Modified games for children of this age-range
  • Participants will use size-appropriate Spalding® Rookie Gear Basketball and receive NBA team-branded t-shirt

In the community

 The JR. NBA hosted clinics for more than 2,500 students from the greater Toronto area led by current and former NBA players, WNBA players, Ambassadors, celebrities and mascots ! 

Jaren Jackson Jr. introduces Jr. NBA at Home and lets you know what to expect in the coming weeks! 

Jr. NBA coach Jeremiah Boswell teaches you how to do the stationary crossover drill.

Coach Walt Webb from the Jr. NBA teaches us the Dribble Over The Cone Drill to work on ball handling  

The 3-3-3 Dribble Drill is a great way to work on your ball handling, led by Jr. NBA Coach Vaness  

Ty Jerome from the Phoenix Suns gets us active with the Quick Feet Tap Drill
