As you’re likely aware, the province announced yesterday that Ontario will move into Step 2 of the Roadmap to Reopen. This is great news, as it means less COVID-19 and more people are vaccinated.
The restrictions in Step 2 will impact our camp operations, as indoor sports-based camps (e.g., indoor skating, hockey, soccer, basketball, badminton, trampoline, dance, gymnastics and wall climbing)are not permitted to operate.
This is consistent with Step 2 restrictions that do not permit any indoor sports or fitness (with exceptions for professional and elite athletes).
The good news is that outdoor sports-based camps are permitted, and so to keep our campers and staff safe, we will move all basketball programming outdoors until we can safely move indoors. Camp location remains at Shooter’s Paradise in Vaughan, and we continue to have access to the indoor facility at Shooter’s Paradise, for the purposes of washroom use, handwashing, water refilling, staff/camper isolation (if needed), and safe indoor camp activities (e.g., yoga, functional movement, guest speakers, video analysis).
We will continue to adhere to all provincial guidance and COVID-19 restrictions – our priority is the health and safety of your children and our staff. We are hopeful that Ontario will move into Step 3 in late-July and we can transition to using the indoor facility for basketball.
We apologize if this change creates frustration or disappointment, but we assure you that your children will continue to have a great camp experience, and our staff is poised to adapt to changing COVID-19 restrictions.
If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitant to reach out.
Thank you for your continued support and interest in Four Point Basketball, and we’re looking forward to starting camp.
Four Point Basketball
Safety is our number one concern when it comes to training and never has it been more important. Our team has been working hard, gathering information about Covid-19 and developing protocols that will be in place when we return to basketball.
Four Point Basketball has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, we cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19.
Please read the following document which outlines our COVID-19 return to play guidelines for players and our staff so that we can keep everyone safe.
